Retirement

Everyone dreams of retiring with a source of income that will provide for a desired lifestyle. There are many things to consider when planning for retirement: guaranteed income, health care, tax benefits and advantages, and home security are just a few of the issues to consider.

Successful Financial Planning takes more than just sound financial advice; it takes trust.

As an independent financial planning resource, our advantage is a personalized client relationship that is focused on your success. When you call us, you know the person on the other end of the phone and we know you—we're not just an employee who knows you for only as long as your account number is on his or her computer screen. We've met face-to-face, we've talked about your plans and dreams, and we've gained your trust.

Our long-term relationship will begin with a thorough evaluation of where you are now and where you want to be in the future. We will use a process, proven through years of experience, to help you evaluate and prioritize your goals and provide us with a plan to help you get there.

More detailed information about our philosophies and services are provided below.

Financial Planning

Our Certified Financial Planner™ uses the goals defined by you to prepare a written PLAN that includes recommendations designed to help you reach your unique financial goals and objectives.

We view Financial Planning as a long-term ongoing relationship, not a single engagement in which we prepare a plan for you, charge you a fee and never see you again. This long-term, ongoing relationship has a distinct process that we always follow. We provide easy-to-use forms and follow the strictest standards of confidentiality in gathering and analyzing personal and financial data that you supply.

As your partner in the process, we will help you recognize milestones, evaluate future financial decisions, and manage your changing financial assets and resources.

Investment Planning

The very best plan will be useless if you never carry it out, or implement the plan. Therefore, the next step is to put the plan into action by implementing the recommendations.

At Plan Professionals, Inc. (PPI) we define "investment planning" in a very broad sense. Investment planning includes budgetary considerations, income tax planning, business planning, and education funding planning and retirement considerations. These considerations may, of course, lead to specific recommendations concerning stocks, bonds, mutual funds and other investment funding vehicles.

Most often, specific product recommendations are a very small part of the total service we provide. However, when the client accepts a generic concept, and a specific investment vehicle is required, we will recommend specific products. We tend to focus our product recommendations toward no-load mutual funds, no-load variable annuities and insurance products, and stocks and bonds purchased through discount brokerage services. If buying or selling of securities is involved, we help you find the most efficient, low cost discount brokerage service. (See Financial Planning FAQs numbers 8, 10, and 11 as to potential conflicts of interest.)

Asset Management

Asset management is a significant part of the Investment Planning and Implementation Process. No matter how good the initial investment selections are, they must be constantly monitored and occasionally re-directed or re-balanced to attain the desired results.

Financial Planners or Investment Advisors must be registered with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and/or the state Securities Commissioner. PPI is a Financial Planning Advisory Firm registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the Kansas Securities Commissioner as a Registered Investment Advisor. Mark A. Schneider is registered with the Kansas Securities Commissioner as Registered Investment Advisor Agents for PPI.

PPI utilizes a proprietary active asset allocation strategy which increases the probability of achieving the returns of the broader markets as measured by the Wilshire 5000 index, but at a lower overall risk.

Investment Strategy

Always act in the best interest of the client. That is our corporate Mission Statement and philosophy.

PLAN PROFESSIONALS, INC., INVESTMENT STRATEGIES, JANUARY 1, 2003

Investment Strategy services at Plan Professionals, Inc.Plan Professionals, Inc. (PPI) employs two, distinct investment strategies dictated by the markets momentum, moving averages, and/or valuation.

The primary investment strategy of PPI is a bull market strategy that we call WealthCare (WC). This is a basic diversified asset allocation strategy that is used during bull markets. This is the strategy PPI used through the 1980s and 1990s that resulted in very good investment performance. In fact it is anticipated this strategy will be used most of the time as history has shown that the market is within our WC parameters most of the time.

Client funds are managed based upon risk tolerance determined by their responses to our Risk Tolerance Questionnaire or the client’s specific instructions.

There are six risk levels. The risk levels and general diversified asset allocation percentages are summarized below. These general percentages are usually skewed more heavily towards the categories with the strongest momentum but all categories are generally represented.

The other investment strategy employed by PPI is a bear market strategy. WealthCare Hedged (WCH) is a diversified asset allocation strategy that is used during bear markets. This system was adopted by PPI late in 2002 after three years of a very costly bear market. This strategy employs a much higher percentage of cash or money market funds and inverse or bear funds, which are funds that are inversely related to their respective indices, in addition to some or all of the above categories. This strategy is influenced by technical analysis, market moving average analysis, and Elliot Wave Theory. This is a very defensive strategy designed to limit market exposure and reduce the likelihood of large losses common during bear markets.

At any time a client may request their funds to be managed by either of these two strategies even if PPI is not currently using that strategy as its primary investment strategy.
